General Info About Pin Marking Machine
 
Pneumatic marker, also known as Dot Pin marking is also known as micro percussion marking machines. These machines are ideal for replacing a hand punching operation & has a lot of advantages over many similar conventional processes. Hot foil stamping is also replaced with Pneumatic Metal marking machine. These machine are capable of marking on soft & hard components. These machines can mark all metals such as Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper brass, Gold, Silver, EN8, EN31, OHNS etc.Ideal for marking on hard plastics. These machines mark permanent Batch numbers, Serial numbers, Barcode scanned data, Data from PLC, Date Codes, Month Codes, Year Codes, etc.

These machines typically have speed of 2-3 characters per seconds. They can mark upto depth of 0.01mm-0.4mm

Over all machine accuracy is ensured at 0.01mm.

Data Matrix Marking
 
Peening is a permanent direct product marking (DPM) process used to identify alphanumeric characters, 2D codes (including Mil-Std 130 UID compliant Data Matrix codes), bar codes, custom graphics and logos onto metal or hard surfaces. The process of dot peening encompasses the use of a multiple-axis stylus point which hits the part like a ball-peen hammer and leaves a small dimple. It is an impact marking process that is either electrically or pneumatically driven depending on what material is used. The most common materials used for peening are metals that have hardness ratings up to 62. Other materials such as plastics and hardwoods are good peening candidates.
 
 
Scribing Marking
 
In dot peen marking a vibrating stylus (carbide tipped) is guided across the material using X and Y axis to form the desired characters, the plate or object to be marked needs to be clamped firmly. The scribing process also uses an X and Y carriage system but in this case the stylus is plunged into the material and dragged through the material to create a continuous line. As the applied forces are considerably higher than the dot peen process the component clamping needs to be extremely rigid.
